Minnesota

We have arrived way up north in Minnesota, we have never have been in this state before. There are a lot of lake, some thing like 10.000 of them I believe.

We went to Itasca State Park, this park is were the big Mississippi begins. We cycled to the headwaters, here you can stand in the very beginning of this huge river, it goes all the way to the Golf of Mexico, some 2.552 miles down the river.

We did some boating on Lake Itasca as well, I wanted to hire a kayak or canoe, but we had our cameras with us. So we hired a motorboat. The weather was so nice that we snoozed off for a little while.

The colors are starting to change over here, it has been really warm over here. But the cold in settling in now. There must be at least 25 degree difference in temperature now compaired to yesterday.

We arrived in Voyageur NP two days ago, this national park is for those with boats and we do not have a boat. We wanted to rent some canoes or kayaks, but yesterday the wind was quite strong and the waves came over the kayak. So that was a very short trip. And today it was grey and raining most of the day. hopefully we will be able to go on the lake tomorrow.
